Born in 1941 in Dniepropietrovsk, Ukraine, Lyudmyla is the matriarch of a large family. She had three sons and four daughters, 14 grandchildren and another on the way. He studied economics and worked all his life as an economist and accountant while raising his family. Her daughter Natasha defines her as “a great fighter”. Since 2008 she has been a neighbour of Alkiza with a small part of her family. Since then, some of their sons and daughters have also had to migrate and now live in local villages.
He came to us one evening with a beautiful collection of family photographs that he had saved over the years. Lyudmyla speaks a few words in Basque and Spanish, but she makes herself perfectly understood. We were delighted to meet her and learn a little about her history. Thank you Lyudmyla!
