Maria José and Jose Antonio have been running the sagardotegi (cider house) for many years with a lot of effort. Olagi in Altzaga. They explained to us what it means to run a place as special as theirs. Everyone speaks highly of Maria José’s cooking and of Jose Antonio’s hand with his three grills.
The cider they make could not be more artisanal. With their own apple orchards, they take great care of the raw material on which they depend. Jose Antonio says that he is not worried about having a lot of work to do when he has to pick so many apples, that he would be more worried if the year had not been a good one and he did not have much to pick. He is a hotelier, trained as a butcher and also describes himself as a farmer. A kind and hard-working couple, whom we thank, on behalf of many, for the care with which they dedicate themselves to their work for the enjoyment of others. Thank you very much and see you soon!
